The ACP platform is available to everybody in the journalistic community: print journalists, copywriters, photographers and illustrators as well as print, online or mobile phone operator.
1. Why join the ACP community ?
By joining the exclusive ACP community, you will enjoy total freedom, allowing you not only to continue working as a journalist but also to continue to earn a living from your profession.
In today’s world, where it is becoming harder and harder to earn a living from journalism, we are providing you with an exciting new opportunity to reach more potential clients and sell your articles, photos or illustrations more easily. This will help you to increase your revenues while enjoying total freedom of expression.
How does it work ?
If you want to sell content via the ACP platform, you simply have to become one of the community’s 1,500 member-contributors.
Once you are a member, you manage your own account online. Your rights are totally protected and you are paid each time you sell an item via the platform.
2. How to join ?
If you want to join the community, you must be :
- Either a professional print journalist, photographer or illustrator with an official press card or equivalent, operating under a legal entity
- Or a media company
How do you become a member ?
Simply by completing the application form
- Membership is free
- Your application has to be approved by the ACP editorial board
- Membership is automatically renewed on an annual basis
- It can be terminated either by yourself – upon simple request – or by the ACP editorial board
3.Submitted content
You are totally free to choose – and to handle the management of - the content you wish to sell via the platform.
You can submit any type of editorial content meeting the following requirements :
- Articles or features of 500 words (3000 characters) minimum, with or without illustrations
- Individual photos or photographic features
- Illustrations
You decide quite freely on the creation of any articles, photos or features submitted with regard to their subject, angle or length.
You can even submit material which has already been published, on condition that you own its publication rights. You simply have to indicate the publications in which it has already appeared on the data sheet you provide.
Uploading material onto the platform
When you sign up, you receive your own personal codes enabling you to access a private membership area from which you manage your account. Whatever you choose to upload onto the platform is left entirely to your discretion.
- You upload content from your private membership area.
- You complete a data sheet for each item submitted, in order for it to be registered.
- It is uploaded as soon as the relative data sheet has been completed and you have confirmed the operation.
- You can withdraw any item at any time.
4. Payment terms
Any item sold is paid for as soon as the transaction has been completed, whether it is published or not.
The amount charged for each item takes three factors into consideration :
- How well you are known
- The nature of the content (category, length ...)
- Its intended circulation
When you sign up to become a member, you agree to a pricing scale based on how well you are known. This in turn determines the rates you can charge for your different items, depending on their usage (circulation, geographical regions ...).
The commission charged by ACP varies progressively depending on the amount of revenues you generate via the platform.
Protection of your rights
When you submit content to the platform, your rights are totally protected:
- Content is encapsulated and tagged
While your material can be visualised by all potential purchasers, it is protected by the encapsulation of texts, tagging and the low resolution definition of photos.
5. Authors’ rights
Once the item has been sold, it becomes the property of the purchaser who is free to publish it – or not – and to decide how it should be used, respecting the author’s rights and the circulation terms agreed upon at the time of purchase.
The purchaser has the right to rewrite a text or retouch a photo on condition that neither the meaning nor the substance of your artistic creation be altered.
Should a purchaser not respect his/her commitments, you should immediately notify ACP who will ensure that the subscriber in question rectifies the situation.
